RULES

Undefined RP is a roleplay server that offers a unique and immersive experience for players.

The Golden Rule

The Golden Rule

Is everyone having fun right now and is this being provided through quality roleplay interactions? If you provide low-quality roleplay that breaks immersion, roleplay that feels toxic, or roleplay that may seem unreasonable/inappropriate, the staff team may deliberate on whether or not you are fit for the community. Claiming ignorance is no excuse for not following the rules. You are held accountable for your actions and collectively we work together to make this server a fun place for all.

General Rules

G1. Age Requirement

Age Requirement for joining: 18+.

G2. Microphone Requirement

A working, quality mic is required. You must be able to speak and understand English. Push to talk is also required.

G3. Toxicity

Being toxic, or breeding toxicity on any platform (this includes Twitch, Discord, etc.) is prohibited.

G4. Rule Updates

All members of Undefined RP must revisit the rules periodically as they are subject to change at ANY time.

G5. Respect

Respect all staff and community members: Any form of discrimination, harassment or offensive language/behavior will not be tolerated.

G6. Cheating & Exploits

Cheating or hacking is strictly prohibited. Using third-party programs or modifications to gain an unfair advantage (aimbots, macros, wallhacks) or exploiting glitches/bugs is not allowed. If someone gives you a large sum of money or items out of nowhere, please report it.

G7. Character & Group Names

Use appropriate and realistic names for your characters and/or group names. Your character should not be named after real people (celebrities, content creators, public figures, etc.). Your character needs to have a somewhat realistic name and must not break Rockstar TOS.

G8. Combat Logging / ID Checker Abuse

Do not combat log or abuse the use of the ID checker or find ways to toggle it on.

G9. Griefing / Pocket Wiping

Griefing players is prohibited. Do not pocket wipe players without a valid RP reason to do so.

G10. Contacting Staff

Do not DM or Ping Staff. Please utilize our ticket system and be patient for a response.

G11. Common Sense

Use common sense at all times. Think before you do things. This is an adult community, so common sense is needed since not everything can be explicitly outlined.

G12. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for the people that use your account and join the server.

G13. Compensation Proof

If you encountered an issue where items or money were removed, please attempt to provide proof of it happening so those items can be compensated.

G14. Advertising

Advertising for another city is strictly prohibited.

G15. Definition of Combat Logging

Combat Logging is leaving the server during a roleplay scene and not returning to avoid repercussions. If your game crashes during a scene, reconnect as soon as possible or let a staff member know.

G16. Reporting Bugs & Exploits

Finding bugs or exploits in the server must be reported to staff immediately. If you notice a job is paying more than it probably should, report it. Going AFK to gather paychecks is considered exploiting.

G17. Respect Staff RP

Do not pull a staff member out of their roleplay to do staff duties. Staff volunteers their time to help the city and deserves to be able to roleplay as well. Admins have the right to intervene in roleplay scenarios and/or pause them to investigate a report.

Roleplay Rules

RP1. Asset & Info Transfers

Creating new characters with the intent to transfer money or assets to another character is strictly forbidden. This includes separating your characters and making sure no info is transferred in-between. Transferring assets to another character, even if it's not your own alternate character before or after a permanent death is forbidden. All assets should remain in the deceased character’s possession. This also goes for characters who plan on leaving the city with no intent to return.

RP2. Player Character Job Limitations

Each player can only hold one high command position across all characters. Each player can only own one business across all characters. Each player can only be in one gang across all characters.

RP3. Dealership Employees

Players who work at dealerships cannot sell vehicles to themselves. They also cannot circumvent the system by selling the vehicles they want to a friend and then have them transfer it back. You should not order the vehicle for yourself; another employee must handle the entire transaction.

RP4. Stay In Character

You should remain in character at all times. You must remain in a sense of immersion for yourself and others around you.

RP5. AFK

Going AFK on the server is allowed, but do it at your own risk. You are liable to be taken hostage still, although it is not recommended criminals take a player they think is AFK.

RP6. Roleplay First

This is not a cops and robbers server. This is not a 100k or die server. This is not a deathmatch server. You must intend to roleplay.

RP7. No Spam

Do not spam. Applies to Twitter, OOC, etc.

RP8. Vulgar Sprays/Scenes

Using spray cans or scenes to write vulgar messages or pictures is not allowed.

RP9. PED Usage

You are not allowed to play as a PED on the server unless explicitly granted by server staff.

RP10. Prison No-Fly Zone

The prison is considered a no-fly zone. Police are authorized to shoot down any aircraft in the no-fly zone as well as aircraft being reckless.

RP11. Body Dumping

Body dumping is allowed with a valid reason.

RP12. 'Cousins' & Alt Characters

The word “cousins” is not allowed to be used to reference an alternate character. They are different characters with completely different stories and backgrounds. You should not try to bring up an alternate character unless the information you know of has been told to that specific character.

RP13. After Being Downed or Arrested

If you get downed or arrested, that does not mean the roleplay is over. Do not disrupt other people’s RP while being downed. Let the situation play out. You are allowed to talk while injured. However, if you are “flat backed” you should not be talking but instead use /me to roleplay injuries. If you are downed and revived on scene before the scenario is completed, you should remove yourself from said scene.

Harassment & Respect

Harassment & Respect

We all MUST respect one another within (IC) and outside of (OOC) the city. Any derogatory remarks regarding race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and/or disabilities will NOT be tolerated. Attacking someone in any vulgar or threatening way will result in a ban. Report incidents with proof via ticket or /report. Respect all staff in IC and OOC (especially in tickets). Use respectful tone; communicate concerns via /report or tickets, not during RP.

Breaking Character

Breaking Character

Going out of character (OOC) randomly in the middle of a scene is forbidden without staff permission. Use in-city lingo like “my head popped” (crash) or “my pockets” (inventory). If something seems off, /report after the situation ends or open a ticket. Do not switch to OOC—always stay IC.

Metagaming

Metagaming

Avoid using out-of-character information to influence in-character decisions or actions (including Discord calls while in-server). “Bodycam” footage is allowed if your character has a body camera and only information visible in the footage may be used.

Powergaming

Powergaming

Avoid unrealistic or excessive actions that give your character an unfair advantage (forcing actions/outcomes, disregarding established RP rules, creating exaggerated abilities). Roleplay within bounds of realism.

Fear Roleplay / Value of Life

FearRP / VoL

Engage with consideration for the value of your character's life. Avoid reckless endangerment and prioritize immersion. If someone has a gun on you, attempting to draw without cover is FailRP. Note: If it is explicitly known the gunman will shoot you at the end, you may attempt a last-ditch escape. Examples include: base jumping without a parachute; deep sea diving without oxygen.

New Life Rule (NLR)

NLR

If you respawn at the hospital or go into the “flat back” stage, you forget the immediate events leading up to being downed. Do not respawn if police/EMS are en route. Do not return or interact with the same individuals for 30 minutes. If EMS revives you on scene and releases you when flat backed, you must still forget the incident. You must try to contact medical help while incapacitated.

Fail / Low Quality Roleplay

Fail / Low Quality Roleplay

FailRP refers to actions that are unrealistic or detrimental to others’ RP. Not all unrealistic actions are punishable, but actions that significantly disrupt immersion, coherence, or enjoyment may be. Put effort into RP and continue your character’s story.

Examples of Fail / Low Quality RP

Picking up players to add an extra seat during an active criminal scenario; using law enforcement to revive players to interfere with an active scene; tweeting to police about crime, to clock in/out, or selling illegal items over Twitter; constantly shooting police without reason; fleeing with no reason; failing to RP injuries with EMS (/me or voice); using radio/phone while down; fake hostages; driving through unrealistic terrain/jumps or abusing bikes because PD can’t compete; stealing or impersonating DoJ/EMS/PD without major RP reason; using helicopters for crime; stripping vehicle upgrades; failing to respond to /me interactions; talking normally after gunshot wounds; using a taser to pop a tire; reusing the same shootout location repeatedly; wearing a motorcycle helmet just for gunfights; griefing with malicious intent to annoy.

Random/Vehicle Deathmatch (RDM/VDM)

RDM

Random Deathmatch is attacking/killing without valid IC reason, RP context, or initiation. You must initiate conversation/story before shooting. “It’s on sight” is not valid initiation.

VDM

Vehicular Deathmatch is intentionally using vehicles to harm/kill without proper RP initiation or reason. Note: If someone is holding a gun on you while you are in a car, you may run them over if necessary.

Sensitive & Explicit Roleplay

Torture RP

Torture RP or RP inflicting long-lasting/permanent injuries requires /me consent before beginning or prior consent. Without consent, you may only injure /me to down the player as normal.

Suicide RP

Due to the sensitive nature of suicide, self-harm or suicide plot points are not permitted.

Pregnancy RP

Characters may have children in backstories, but any narratives involving harm to children or engaging in pregnancy roleplay are strictly prohibited.

Erotic Roleplay (ERP)

ERP is allowed only in private housing/settings with consent. Public ERP is prohibited. Sexually explicit images/messages/content must be kept to private channels. ALL parties must consent.

Criminal & Gang Roleplay

CG1. Crime Around Tsunami

There will be NO crime that requires a police response committed 30 minutes before and after the tsunami.

CG2. Changing Outfits/Vehicles

You must wait 10 minutes before changing outfits or the looks of the vehicle used after committing any police-involved crime.

CG3. Storing Pursuit Vehicles

You are not allowed to store a vehicle in a player garage that is actively involved in a pursuit.

CG4. Selling Drugs From Vehicles

You are not allowed to sell drugs to locals from inside a vehicle/on a motorcycle. Exit the vehicle, make the sale, then return.

CG5. Voice Identification

Voice identifying is allowed. It is your responsibility to hide your identity (including masks/clothing). If a voice changer is used, you cannot identify with that.

CG6. Prison RP Mindset

Conduct prison RP as if DOC personnel are present. Do not break into prison without valid purpose/plan. Do not hand items to prisoners through physically impossible areas.

CG7. Prison Transports

Prison transports are separate from the original arrest. You may assemble a new group of up to five individuals specifically to attack a transport.

CG8. Baiting PD

Doing obvious/dumb things to force a police response (e.g., speeding past PD at excessive speeds intentionally) is NOT allowed.

CG9. Cooldown Start

The cooldown timer starts when you completely finish any active scenario, including dropping off vehicles or successfully evading police.

CG10. Repair Benches in Chases

Repair benches may not be used during a police chase unless explicitly agreed upon by all parties prior to the repair.

Alternate Player Characters (APC)

APC.1 Corruption RP (Whitelisted Jobs)

Corruption RP in PD/EMS or other whitelisted jobs is not permitted unless explicitly approved by staff. Examples include: PD selling/giving away police equipment; PD selling/giving away evidence (evidence should remain in evidence lockers unless granted by a supervisor); taking bribes; selling information to criminals.

APC.2 Criminal Alts in PD

You may have a separate gang/criminal character and a PD character in positions excluding command/high command without admin permission (subject to RP/Ban history). Detectives may not investigate their own gang/friends from the other character.

APC.3 Government Job Conflicts

You cannot have a character who is in a gang or knowingly does criminal activity and also works for a whitelisted government job (PD, EMS, SAFR).

Green Zones

Green Zones

No crime is permitted for any reason. You cannot take hostages or perform criminal activity in these zones. Scenarios started outside should be kept out; running to a Green Zone to save yourself is powergaming. If a scenario begun outside enters a Green Zone, it may continue. Green Zones include: Los Santos, Roxwood, and Sandy Shores Hospitals; Clothing Stores; Barber Shops.

Initiation Rule

Initiation

To initiate, you must make intent clear while visible and within at least shout voice range. Visual and voice contact is required when initiating any violent conflict.

Robbing / Killing

RK1. Professional Robber

Do not make robbing the only thing you do or your main income. You may rob players, but not as a professional robber.

RK2. Robbery Quality

Robbing other players must include high-quality RP with justified context/reasoning.

RK3. Pocket Wiping

Do not remove all items from a player during a robbery (no pocket wiping).

RK4. What Can Be Taken

Only take items physically on a player at the time. You cannot force withdrawing money, invoices, or taking vehicles from garages. You may take items from vehicles that are present during the robbery.

RK5. Post-Hospital Cooldown

You cannot initiate hostile RP towards a player for 30 minutes after they come out of a hospital bed, unless they initiate first (applies only to those who went to the hospital).

RK6. Killing After Robbing

Do not rob and then kill without valid RP, unless they attempt resistance. You may rob downed players after a conflict.

RK7. Flat Backed Groups

If your group is fully 'flat backed', you must forget what happened and move on.

RK8. Hovering

Do not hover/watch the gang that just 'flat backed' you. Wait 30 minutes after being healed before starting a new scene. The winning gang should not hover either; if you bring the dead gang to be revived, leave immediately.

RK9. Downed Officers

If you kill a cop, do not linger around the body—attempt to escape. You may rob a downed officer if you were part of the scene and there was valid RP.

RK10. PD Activity Requirement

There must be at least 5 active PD members on duty (not including the downed officer; total 6) to rob a police officer.

RK11. Targeting PD for Loot

Robbing police solely to obtain their belongings is prohibited.

RK12. EMS Protection

EMS are not to be robbed. They are there to help.

Hostages

Host1. Repeat Kidnapping

You may not kidnap the same individual within one real-life hour of having already done so.

Host2. Affiliation

Hostages cannot be affiliated with your group. You cannot intentionally be a hostage as part of a plan.

Host3. Self-Harm / Bank Demands

You cannot take a hostage and demand self-harm or demand they withdraw funds from a bank.

Host4. Kidnapping PD

To kidnap a police officer, there must be at least 5 active cops on duty besides the one being kidnapped, and there must be valid reason for the kidnapping.

Host5. EMS

EMS personnel are not to be kidnapped—they are there to help.

Host6. Exchange Rules

You may not exchange a hostage for the release of a suspect who has already been sent to prison. Hostages can only exchange a captive individual in an active situation. (I.E., the situation is ongoing and PD has a suspect in the cells.)

Host7. Locals as Hostages

Using store clerks/locals (AI) as hostages is prohibited. Locals do not count as hostages.

Heists

H1. No Chain-Robbing High-Tier

You cannot chain-rob high-tier heists (anything with a MAX of 4 or more criminals). There is a self-imposed cooldown of 1 hour for high-tier heists.

H2. Chain-Robbing Small Activities

You may chain-rob activities that have a MAX of 3 or fewer criminals.

H3. Max Count Adherence

You must adhere to the maximum number of criminals for the heist. No backup if already at max (includes active participants, getaway driver, car swap, etc.).

H4. Weight & Preparation

Weight is factored into heists. If you are too full to receive an item, you will not be compensated. Be prepared with enough people to carry items.

H5. No Cross-Group Collaboration

Separate groups may not collaborate towards different objectives simultaneously. Each group must follow their own timer and operate independently.

H6. Following Robbers

Players may follow recent robbers to attempt to rob stolen goods. You must engage role-play before escalating to violence and must not interfere with police during the active chase.

H7. No Revenge Interference

Do not interfere in ongoing robberies for revenge (e.g., because a friend was taken hostage).

Rule of Many

Rule of Many

Unless otherwise stated here or in the gang rulebook, criminal activity scenarios are limited to 4 individuals.

Boosting

B1. Group Size

All boosting scenarios are maximum 4 people involved.

B2. Drop-Off After Escape

You must fully escape police before dropping the vehicle at the drop-off point.

Street Racing

Street Racing

PD may choose to engage or simply gather info for warrants/etc. If PD engages, racers may assist each other and are considered involved in the same getaway. This does NOT permit immediate pitting/ramming/shooting—react appropriately to PD response.

Gang Rulebook

Gang Rulebook Reference

Undefined Roleplay’s Gang Rulebook is located in the 'Undefined RP Faction Handbook' (see community resources).

Player Reports & Bans

Reporting

Open a player report ticket to submit reports. Staff may also enforce rules proactively. If a rulebreak cannot be tracked via logs, video evidence is required.

Enforcement

Reports are handled case-by-case. Punishments range from warnings to permanent bans based on situation and history. Banned individuals may submit a ban appeal.

Responsibility & Evidence

Rules can be updated regularly. It is your responsibility to stay up to date. It is highly recommended to run OBS/Medal to capture evidence. For staff to enforce rules without reports, player ID or names are required.
